Intuitive MisCustom Branded InterfaceCustomisable Options
Systems like iSAMS try to do a lot of things, and I can appreciate that none of those will be as good as specialised options e.g. we do not use the built in admissions, we use OpenApply. Whilst the system does the core items fairly well, it does feel like it is ageing and in need of overhaul, and despite it's best efforts, it does not feel like iSAMs has enough capacity to do this quickly enough.
We are yet to use the system fully; however, the set up is very much 'old' by design - looks like it was an early 1990s Windows set up. Other systems are more intuitive and use fewer clicks to get the information required. I think the dashboard could be less cluttered and simpler to use. For example, the timetable appears in my day view and it would be obvious to be able to click on it and it open the register. However, there is no link and you have to click a different area to open the register. The modular nature can be frustrating as schools are not modular by design and cross-referencing of information is so often used. There just appears to be 2/3 clicks too many required when the trying to access information. A small but frustrating thing is is the attention to detail e.g. in the search function Pupil Manager asks for Forename and then Surname; Pupil Profile is Surname and Forename. It is a small thing but frustrating.
