We have been undertaking an action research on implementing a maths mastery approach to the teaching of maths and we found White Rose enabled us to action this.
Juliet found White Rose Maths:
- Moderately saves school money“The online resources you provided during lockdown.”
- Moderately reduces attainment gap“Whole class teaching, all children learning together then following a mastery approach working with those children in the week who for whatever reason have found it difficult and giving them extra support so that they keep up and don’t need to catch up later.”
- Moderately improves teaching efficiency“The sequence of learning means that the foundations for teaching maths are strong and we move on when the children have a solid grasp of concepts and number. This means a slower pace to begin with but should mean that things don’t need to be re-taught as the prerequisites for future learning are in place.”
- Slightly improves teacher knowledge“Your website and materials have been helpful as was teacher training we had on island.”
- Moderately improves attainment“Mastery approach meant more of our pupils attained ELG this year.”

Very good resources but teachers should still look to improve their own subject knowledge. Format of worksheets is s little repetitive.
