What is The Business School?

The Business School is a live, multiplayer business simulation designed specifically for secondary and higher education environments. Students work collaboratively in teams of five, with each team member assigned a C-suite executive role such as CEO, CFO, CMO, COO, CHRO, or Sales Director. During a compact 60-minute classroom session, these student teams compete against each other to build the most profitable virtual company. The platform requires minimal technical setup, operating entirely through web browsers without the need for downloads, installations, or student account creation—teachers simply generate a PIN code that students use to access the simulation.

The simulation offers comprehensive business education through practical experience rather than theoretical study. Key features include a live marketplace where students set prices and compete for customers in real-time, experiencing concepts like price elasticity of demand firsthand. Students manage VAT compliance through an HMRC portal, handle financial decisions with real consequences, and navigate crisis events triggered by teachers. The platform aligns with A-Level and BTEC specifications, covering multiple curriculum topics in a single session. After completion, students receive AI-generated performance reports, concept quizzes, and printable certificates with grades, providing immediate feedback on their business decisions.

Implementation in schools is straightforward and requires minimal preparation. Teachers begin by logging into their credentials to create a session, which generates a unique 6-digit PIN and QR code. This code is shared with students, who can join using any device—phones, tablets, laptops, or Chromebooks—without installing software or creating accounts. During the session, teachers control the pace through a dedicated dashboard, monitor team progress, and can trigger crisis events to challenge students. The entire experience fits within a standard class period, replacing weeks of textbook case studies with direct, practical business experience that accommodates up to 30 students simultaneously.

Recommended Usage

One 60-minute session per topic. Recommended minimum of one session per half-term to cover key curriculum areas. Each session replaces several hours of textbook-based case study work with practical, hands-on business experience.
