What is Smashed Online?
Smashed Online is a new and dynamic e-learning programme on the causes and consequences of underage drinking for 11-14 year olds. It forms one part of the global Smashed Project which includes both live in-school performances and e-learning resources in over 30 countries worldwide.
The programme is between 60 and 90 minutes long and is framed around a high-quality, cinematic story of three teenagers and their early experiences with alcohol. Featuring a host of interactive activities to improve knowledge, social awareness and decision-making skills around underage drinking, the course is fully linked to the PSHE Association’s Programme of Study for the age group. It can be completed individually by students on any device or delivered as a whole class activity led by teachers on an interactive whiteboard. Smashed Online can be completed short episodes, with user progress tracked to allow users to pick up where they left-off, or as a single 60-90 minute session.
We want young people to learn about the dangers of alcohol in a realistic context, exploring real situations they may face as they grow up. The episodic clips allow students to witness the causes and consequences of underage drinking, developing their confidence and social awareness to make better choices in their own lives.
