What is DreamBox Reading Plus?
Daisy Education, formerly Reading Solutions UK, is the exclusive UK provider of DreamBox Reading Plus and DreamBox Maths.
Reading Plus is an adaptive online reading development programme designed to enhance fluency, vocabulary and comprehension skills - helping students in Key Stage 2 - Key Stage 4 students become better readers with a readability range from Year 2 to beyond GCSE.
All students, including those eligible for pupil premium, EAL, and SEND students, benefit significantly from the programme’s personalised scaffolding, adaptive
technology, and varied informative and cultural texts.
Supporting students
Students begin their Reading Plus journey with an adaptive assessment that sets a personalised, data-driven starting point. This ensures each student is placed at the right level and given a tailored learning pathway to build on strengths and address areas for improvement. With access to over 1,300 high-quality,
age-appropriate texts—including fiction, non-fiction and informational content—students can choose what interests them and read at their ‘just-right’ level.
Key benefits for students:
- Texts are read using the Guided Window to support fluency and stamina.
- Each completed text is followed by ten comprehension questions.
- Progress is driven by accuracy and completion, supported by engaging content, gamification and instant feedback.
- As students move through their adaptive path, they develop fluency, stamina, vocabulary and comprehension.
- Cross-curricular knowledge expands due to varied topics, helping them become confident, motivated and curious readers who are more likely to read for pleasure.
Supporting teachers
Reading Plus is designed to lighten the workload for teachers while delivering measurable reading progress across the class. The programme runs independently, meaning less time spent planning, differentiating and marking. Teachers gain access to real-time data that highlights student progress and areas for intervention. With built-in assessments and ready-made resources, Reading Plus supports targeted instruction and classroom management, allowing teachers to focus more on what they do best – teaching.
Key benefits for teachers:
- Independent student work reduces planning and marking time.
- Real-time progress data informs instruction and supports targeted intervention.
- Built-in assessments eliminate the need for additional testing.
- Ready-made intervention materials support small group or one-to-one sessions.
- Improved classroom focus as all students are engaged at their own level.

An extensive collection of reports
Our extensive reporting shows you the progress your pupils make through their use of the Reading Plus programme. We’ve also developed additional reports to further support you – and evidence the progress being made.
Progress reports
The Reading Plus Progress Report is designed to evidence formative student progression in reading speed, comprehension, and vocabulary. And it identifies target pupils who require further support or intervention.
We send these reports on a termly basis covering Years 3 to 6.
QLA reports
When children complete a reading selection on Reading Plus, they answer 10 questions to test their deeper understanding and comprehension anchor skills.
QLA Reports identify children’s strengths and areas for development against the KS2 Reading Content Domains to help inform interventions and provide an insight into pupils’ overall levels of performance.
We send these reports in preparation for Year 5 pupils progressing to Year 6 so that teachers can identify immediately where pupils require support to become secure in the skills areas that require development.
Teacher must create the account.
