Schools already have access to many excellent services designed to support young people when problems arise. PWA complements these by focusing further upstream: building understanding before problems begin. As clinicians, we created PWA because we saw a missing piece. If young people do not understand the fundamentals of their physical, mental, emotional and social health, it is much harder for them to stay well, build resilience, recognise when something is wrong or respond appropriately when they need support.

PWA brings trusted experts directly into the classroom through engaging, video-first digital learning. Doctors, psychologists and other health and wellbeing specialists explain the issues young people encounter in everyday life, from mental health, sleep, nutrition and movement to relationships, sexual health, substances, body awareness and navigating online health information. Real experiences, interactive quizzes and practical activities help learners connect that knowledge to their own lives.

For schools, PWA can enhance and support existing PSHE/RSHE and wider health and wellbeing provision rather than requiring educators to become experts in every topic themselves. Schools can choose the content most relevant to their curriculum, learners and priorities, while lesson guides, worksheets and classroom resources help teachers take learning further with minimal preparation.

Every student receives their own login, allowing learning to continue beyond the classroom and helping schools reach learners who may not always be present when health education is delivered. Educators also have access to engagement and usage insights alongside supporting teaching resources.

The platform is designed around how young people actually engage with digital content. Students have described PWA as feeling like they are being “spoken to, not at”, while educators have called it “a game-changer for teachers like me.”

PWA is not designed to replace pastoral care, clinical services or specialist support. It strengthens the foundations beneath them: helping young people understand themselves, look after their health and wellbeing, build resilience and recognise when they need further help.
