What is Magrid Learning Solution ?
Magrid is a scientifically validated cognitive training program for children aged 3 to 8. Rather than teaching curriculum content, it builds the 12 foundational cognitive and numerical competencies that children need to succeed in mathematics, literacy, STEM, visual arts, and beyond. Think of it as training the mental infrastructure that makes all learning possible.
The program is entirely language-free. Every activity is visual, which means children with language barriers, multilingual learners, and students with special educational needs can participate fully and progress at the same pace as their peers. This is not a design shortcut: it is a deliberate scientific choice, validated in randomized controlled trials.
Magrid delivers 3,700+ activities across 90+ task types. The difficulty adjusts automatically to each child, ensuring that no student is left behind and no student is held back. The program has been validated in 5 peer-reviewed studies conducted by independent universities in Luxembourg, Germany, France, and Portugal, with effect sizes consistently above the educational research benchmark. It has been deployed across all public preschools in Luxembourg since 2021 and is now active in 500+ schools across 10+ countries, reaching more than 50,000 students worldwide.
For teachers and school administrators, Magrid provides a real-time dashboard that tracks each student's progress across all 12 competencies, generates individual learning pathways, and significantly reduces the time spent on manual assessment and reporting. Evidence-based teacher training is included and can be scheduled on demand, either in person or online.
Magrid was developed as a spin-off from the University of Luxembourg, based on two doctoral theses in neuroscience and developmental psychology. It has received international recognition from the World Summit Award (Winner 2020, Global Champion 2021), the European Investment Bank Social Innovation Tournament (1st Prize, 2021), the Qatar Foundation WISE Award, and MIT Solve (2022).

Magrid is available on iOS, Android, and Windows (Microsoft Store), and can be used fully offline once downloaded, making it suitable for low-connectivity environments including rural schools and development contexts.
A touchscreen device is strongly recommended: tablets (iPad, Android, Chromebooks) deliver the best experience, as the activities are designed for tactile interaction and the larger screen better supports children with special educational needs. Smartphones can be used but are not optimal due to screen size. Desktop use is supported on Mac, Windows, and Chromebook, though touch-enabled devices are preferred.
5 minutes. Once downloaded from the App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store, users register an account, add their first student and class, and have immediate access to all activities and the reporting dashboard. No technical configuration or IT support is required.
Teacher and administrator training is included and available on demand. Sessions are interactive and cover the program's scientific foundations, curriculum structure, learning objectives, and a full walkthrough of the app including activities, assessments, and the reporting dashboard.
Training is delivered in person or live online and can be conducted in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, or Luxembourgish. Ongoing support sessions for feedback and programme optimisation are actively organised throughout the academic year.
