Huddle is an integrated educational system designed to address critical challenges in South African education, including teacher shortages and inequality in educational outcomes. It provides a comprehensive solution that combines CAPS-aligned resources, engaging instructional videos, professional development, and classroom technology to help teachers deliver high-quality education with reduced stress. Huddle specifically targets schools in South Africa where only 37 out of 100 children who start school pass matric, and merely 4 obtain a degree, aiming to transform these statistics through systematic educational support.

The key capabilities of Huddle include CAPS-aligned resources developed by exceptional educators, including termly planning teacher guides, write-in learner workbooks, and assessments with memorandums. The platform offers engaging videos with enriching visuals and clear explanations that align with the workbooks, enabling effective lesson preparation and delivery. Additionally, Huddle provides empowering professional development through six training sessions, four classroom coaching visits, and continuous WhatsApp support. The technology component equips classrooms with essential hardware including WiFi, projectors, speakers, laptops, and a Learning Management System to facilitate modern teaching methods.

Huddle is implemented in schools through a partnership model, with options for schools to either directly engage with Huddle or apply to become donor-funded Huddle schools through their partnership with SAILI. The implementation currently covers Grade 8 subjects including Mathematics, Core Afrikaans FAL, Social Sciences, Natural Science, Life Orientation, Creative Arts, and EMS, with Grade 9 Social Sciences also available. Early evidence from pilot projects shows promising results, with learners outperforming peers in regular classrooms, 88% of teachers reporting improved lessons, and 80% of learners expressing a desire to have Huddle in every class and grade. The system is currently reaching over 3,100 engaged learners across 7 partner schools, supported by 95 teachers.
